Mobberly Hotel at Longview Junction. Built in 1884 by Sam Mobberly, it was one of the finest hotels between New Orleans and El Paso. Vacant for many years, it burned in 1965. (Large View)

Gregg Hotel

Gregg Hotel built by Dr. V. R. Hurst and Oliver Daniels in 1929-30.   Size of the structure was doubled in 1935 after it was purchased by Conrad Hilton. (Large View)

Gregg Memorial Hospital

Gregg Memorial Hospital located on Fifth Street and Highway 80 in Longview. Established in 1933 by the Gregg County Commissioners Court with Dr. J. D. Baucam as chief-of-staff. It was later renamed Good Shepherd Medical Center. (Larger View)

Nicholson Memorial Library

Nicholson Memorial Library at southeast corner of College and Green Streets in Longview. Built in 1932 by Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Nicholson in memory of their son, Walter. It was turned over to the Longview Independent School District in 1987 when the new Longview Public Library opened. (Larger View)

Parade on Methvin Street in downtown Longview. Hurst Clinic (building with awnings) built in 1919 by Dr. V. R. Hurst. It was Longview’s first hospital-clinic and the first in the state built exclusively as an eye, ear, nose, and throat clinic. Building to right is East Texas Chamber of Commerce. (Larger View)
